Born as third daughter into a family of professional tennis players Magdalena Maleeva became the youngest ever national tennis champion of Bulgaria, at the age of 13 years and four months. She played on the WTA tour competing in singles and doubles, from April 1989 to October 2005. Her best singles ranking in the WTA Tour was world No. 4.
In her 16 years of professional tennis she competed among the TOP 10 in the world in the French Open, Australian Open, US Open, Wimbledon and many more. She has been able to defeat almost all top tennis players like Martina Navrátilová, Lindsay Davenport, Venus Williams, Monica Seles, Mary Pierce, Conchita Martínez and Amélie Mauresmo.
In her life after tennis Magi Maleeva dedicates her energy to create public awareness about urgent environmental problems through the environmental organization GORICHKA, created the organic food brand HARMONICA and is partner at the Maleeva Tennis Club in Sofia/ Bulgaria.
